When a column has more than 50 characters, it only shows the first 50 characters. To see the rest of the data, I need to press PF5 (Show Field). Is there a way to change the default to show all the data in the column instead of pressing the PF5 key every time?

danm,

If I remember correctly, Press PF09 and change the Width of the Column and then press PF12

Hope this helps...

Cheers

Kolusu,

PF9 to change the width is only available for report, not edit a table.

If you press the PF5 key (Show field) it will display the entire contents of the field.

Sorry, I meant to say:

1. Place your cursor in the field to be edited.
2. Press PF5 (Show field) to display the entire contents of the field.

jim haire,

This is exactly what I do. The problem is every time after a new search, I need to press PF5 to see the entire field. I would like QMF to display all the contents without me pressing the PF5 key for every search.

Have you tried PF1?

Personally, I don't feel that QMF is the best product for editing DB2 data.

Do you have Fileaid for DB2, Princeton Softech, or any Platinum tools in your shop? These provide DB2 data in a manner that you would see a sequential file and would display the entire column(s) for each record which makes it easier to edit.
