Hi all,
I need to connect to some existing CICS transactions from a C program. Currently the C program is using terminal emulation/screen scraping. Basically invoking the rumba session, entering the login parms, executing the transaction (by "send"ing the tran code) and then capturing the data stream sent back to the "terminal"

But the terminal creation/destruction overhead is killing us.

We are at liberty to change the C program but not the CICS transactions.

Looking thru the book "architecting web access to CICS" I concluded that the least painful way to do this might be the Link3270 bridge.

Does anyone have experience with this product?

I have spent last 2 days poring over the manual and not getting very far. I have figured out that I need to use ECI calls to connect to CICS from C program and that somehow have to connect from the bridge (DFHL3270) to the CICS application using DPL, whatever that is.

But any practical tips would be highly appreciated at this point

A sample C program that makes ECI calls would be great if someone can share it.

And also what is needed from the DPL perspective.

Thanks a lot guys
