Hi
We have REORG for DB2-Relational database.
The IMS database is stored physically on VSAM files. Do we have something like this (REORG in DB2) for IMS database. And if yes then
1. What is the technical word for the process.
2. How frequently it will be carried out. (That will depend on no of updates and stuffs like that. Still...)
Ciao

The technical term is also REORG. There are different types of REORG depending on the structure, the indexes and the logical relationships.
There are stand-alone REORGS (The databases are de-allocated) and On-line REORGS (While the databases are in use).
We REORG are databases on a weekly basis with the exception of heavily updated ones which a processed daily. |
