As one of the Moderators on this board, I'd like to request that participants in these Forums not use "Thanks in advance" or "TIA" as an excuse not to give feedback on the answers they get from other people or thank them for their help. If somebody helps you, they deserve a real "thank you" and an acknowledgement from you that their solution worked. This also helps you as it makes it more likely that people will want to help you in the future. It helps other participants by closing the loop on whether a solution worked or not.

I totally agree with Frank that a feedback from the questioner is definitely the right thing to do rather than a simple TIA(thanks in advance). It lets the responder know that his/her efforts are appreciated and did indeed help the questioner. The feedback encourages other people on this board to answer the queries.

I agree! Though am new to this site but I appreciate so much the way individuals help each other, i've seen in the postings so far.
Thanking the person who puts effort for your problem is a must and is in good manners too. Also the acknowledgment would let the solution-giver come to know if his/her solution worked or not!!
Frank you said absoultely right !!
