Hi All,
I am new to this forum, and am here looking for an answer.
What will happen when an REPL call is made to the IMS with SSA variable also given in the call?
| Code: | MOVE SPACES TO DB-SSA
CALL CBLTDLI USING 'REPL'
DB-PCB
IO-AREA
DB-SSA
|
Do let me know what will happen in this case.
Thanks

harshk_basheer,
What does DB_SSA contain? If it is just the segment name which you are trying to replcace, then you will successfully replace the record in the segment. I assume that there is a successfull GHU call before this REPL call.
Hope this helps...
Cheers

So, as per kolusu, if the SSA value contains just the segment name, this code will work. Yes, as you mentioned, there is a GHU call before this command.
I will try this out and update this post accordingly.
Thanks for the reply

Hi harshk_basheer,
The 'REPL' calls are used with Unqualified SSA's (SSA's having only the segment name). Only in special instances like in a PATH call when we try to give 'REPL' , we can use qualified SSA's. Even these PATH call SSA's can be negated by using the command code 'N'.
So an unqualifed SSA as you mentioned in your post doesn't matter the 'REPL' call if you have already given a successful GHU or GHN call before it.
Regards,
Deepesh |
