Hi Board,
In my installaction we are having the COPE region to see the what are all the region's are existed. Anyone can give me the clear clarification on COPE region.

1) Is this useful to check the IMS Databases?
2) Is this useful to stop the IMS Databases?
3) Is this is a control region for all other IMS Databases?

In our test environment everything runs in COPE region. I heard that if anything runs in COPE region the PSB is converted to COPE ID.
I come across with this problem when the IMS Database loading program is abended. And the PSB is locked. When I tried to start my PSB with
/START PGM PSBNAME. Afterwards I got information that I need to start with the PSB with COPE ID, not with the PSB Name.

Can anyone explain me regarding What is the COPE Region?
How PSB names will be convered to COPE Id?

Once again these type of questions are best answered by your co-workers. I have never heard of COPE.

I tried to get the required information. But no one worked with the BTS till today. I will try to find out in my installation itself.

COPE is a product that allows multiple applications (even with duplicate names) to run in the same IMS control region. It does this by renaming things as needed.
