I am looking for advice on the advantages/disadvantages regarding the use of partitioned versus standard table spaces. These tables will have approximately 5 to 20 million rows and have approximately 1,000,000 queries and 50,000 inserts/updates daily. These databases will be on a z/800 at 80 MIPS. Performance (obviously) is the number one priority. The IBM manuals lead us in one direction, but real world experience is usually better than what is stated in a manual. Any advice here would be appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks kolusu,
I did notice the article was written in 2003(although plenty of good information). Do you think Ver. 8 will be any different?

I still haven't got my hands on DB2 Version 8. Sad . But I guess the above article even holds good for v8
