|
|
Hi All,
I want to know how to find out the retention period for DASD's and TAPE datasets.
My requirement is,have some thousands of datasets( on DASD's and TAPE's). Need to know what is the retention period for all of them.
I tried using LC comand, that has EXPIRATION-DATE as 0000(ZEROES).
It would be of great help, if I can get some info on this.
Thanks

Jyotsna,
The Expiration date for an SMS-managed data set is limited by the maximum expiration date defined in the management class for the data set.
So contact your system folks and they might be able to tell you.

What exactly is a LC command ? Is it a standard TSO command?

Thanks Kolusu for your reply. I have taken the approach of searching the RETPD in all the jcl libraries. Guess thats the easiest way.
TSO LC is euivalent to LISTCAT command, LC would give us an option to specify the dataset name.

As far as I know LISCAT short form is LISTC . LC might be your shop specific CLIST or REXX
