I have submitted the JCL to them, and I have requested that they either
A) Provide some sort of SyncSort alternative
or
B) Provide some documentation for SyncTool
|
Samuel,
A.) An alternative solution using synctool was provided here. You should have asked syncsort to provide a solution using features like IFTHEN, OVERLAY, REPEAT and RESTART parms.
B.) I wouldn't be surprised if they pointed to DFSORT's ICETOOL Documentation.

Well, that's about as credible as all of the other claims they've made over the years. (Perhaps they think having you write your own E15 or E35 exit with the appropriate logic, or using multiple passes, to do all the things that DFSORT's ICETOOL can do qualifies as performing the same function.) _________________ Frank Yaeger - DFSORT Development Team (IBM)

This a direct quote from a MVS tech @ SyncSort.
"SYNCTOOL is provided for compatibility with DFSORT's ICETOOL so that existing DFSORT customers converting to SyncSort do not have to change existing job streams.
Included is a document containing SYNCTOOL error messages."
He would not allow me to post and/or send the documenation to the forum...
Although, I do not see why SyncSort wouldn't provide the same documenation to
other liscened SyncSort users. |

Kolusu,
That may have been a better question, but my skill level is nowhere near yours.
I do not have the knowlege to ask such a question...
I can tell you this. I got the impression from them that they only want to support
SyncTool for conversion purposes. Therefore, I doubt that they would have been receptive to that question.
