Lately in out reporting software ISM we have found that the I/O Count fields are all zeros. We have tracked it to the SMF Type 42 Subtype 6 record. They seemed to have stopped producing down to a trickle. Has anybody ever had this problem before? _________________ Mark Goodwyn

Check the file you are reading your smf records from and start backtracking the job(s) back to the the raw smf that is getting produced realtime. Somewhere there is probably a filter set in one of those jobs that is stripping out the record types you want. |

After digging into every job that touchs the SMF data, I found out that BMC's RESOLVE was stopping the records from being created. The parameter was changed to allow the creation of the 42_6 records and they appeared. _________________ Mark Goodwyn
