Hi

In our CICS project there is a problem with a dataset that is we are using four KSDS datasets for multiple purpose for particular time period itself many transactions are invoking tat file.So for other users its creating a lock like waiting satus or some mesages like some other member is using this soomething like that because of this time delay is getting more...so our customer is asking as instead of keeping it in four datasets if changed to one single dataset(KSDS FILE) is tat possible to reduce the time delay.....Can anyone help me

Has the file been split into 4 by key ?

If so it may be that all of the updates / reads are for a certain key range.

Obviously loads on the CPU and channels are totally different from another shop, so my advice would be to test this out in the development environment.

You may also want to talk to your storage people and ask about VSAM data striping, which may help you out too.

But to fix the problem, you need to know what is causing it.
