|
|
We use Visual Age for Java in our shop and use a common repository for the programs. We dont use a third party tool for Version Management like the PVCS etc. Now in Visual Age if someone tries to overwrite the packages/parts without accuquring the ownership it creates a scratch edition.
My problem is if person A creates a scratch edition on a particular package. If the same person now acuquires the ownership and Versions the package, The scratch edition created is Versioned and it becomes the latest edition.
The bottomline is the scratch edition exists in the package when it is not desired to be present!
My question : Is there any way we can find out the scratch edition of a package in VAG ( though it appears in log ) and delete that particular edition alone from the repository.
Would appreciate if someone can help or need further more details regarding this issue. _________________ Rgds,

Eureka!!!
Atl last i got the answer..!!!
And visual age itself provides the solution!!
They have an option called repository explorer in windows option
There we can select the ITEM we are looking into and remove the scratch (for that matter any edition!!) available in the repository!!!
Another option to delete the scratch edition being, compressing the repository using the repository explorer option!!!
Hope it helps someone like me!!! _________________ Rgds,
