SQLCODE,

You can create GDG's using FILE-AID.
I have created using FILE-AID and unloaded the data in the GDG's, using DSNTIAUL utility.

SQLCODE,

you could do this quite easily by creating an E15 sort exit program which would use as its input a dataset name mask. I might be able to dig up a sample COBOL program which calls BPXWDYN to dynamically allocate multiple input files to be read and the records passed to SORT.
