The only capability to migrate you need is the ability to convince whoever purchases products for your site to switch. But I know you have no control over that, unfortunately. _________________ Frank Yaeger - DFSORT Development Team (IBM)

Nancy,
I am 100% confident that you are running syncsort's synctool. Synctool is from syncsort inc which is unsupported tool. The latest release of syncsort had an alias for ICETOOL which makes the programmer believe that he is actually running DFSORT but in reality he is running syncsort. check your TOOLMSG and DFSMSG output to confirm that you are indeed running syncsort. If they show that you are running DFSORT then please post the TOOLMSG and DFSMSG here so that frank can take a look at it.

Nancy,
Look at the messages in TOOLMSG and DFSMSG.
If the messages start with ICE, then you're using DFSORT and ICETOOL and I can help you. Please send me the JES, TOOLMSG, DFSMSG and SECTNRPT output offline (yaeger@us.ibm.com) and I'll take a look.
If the messages in TOOLMSG start with SYT and the messages in DFSMSG start with WER, then you're using Syncsort and I can't help you.
Please let us know which product you're using. _________________ Frank Yaeger - DFSORT Development Team (IBM)

You are right Frank. I am using Syncsort and can't get help any more. But I am grateful to you to make clear all the things in such a great detail.

Nancy,
If you or anyone else on this board would like to receive some documents prepared by the DFSORT Team that discuss what we see as the advantages of DFSORT/ICETOOL over our competitor, as well as migration considerations, just send me a note (yaeger@us.ibm.com). Please put "DFSORT" somewhere in the Subject line to catch my attention. _________________ Frank Yaeger - DFSORT Development Team (IBM)
